Life & Leadership Skills
Legacy Youth is a trauma-informed, culturally responsive youth development program designed for students in grades 7–12. Delivered through flexible modules and interactive workshops, the program teaches leadership, goal setting, emotional wellness, financial literacy, career and college readiness, and entrepreneurship.
Legacy uses a tiered delivery model that can be broken down into 12-week intensives, full-year academy experiences, or an à la carte topic series making it ideal for schools, nonprofits, after-school programs, youth centers, group homes, and residential settings. Each session includes journaling, reflection, open dialogue, and action-oriented challenges.
Legacy meets youth where they are, helping them reimagine where they’re going.
Mission
The Legacy Youth Development Program exists to equip youth with the mindset, life skills, and leadership tools they need to rise above their circumstances, build purpose-driven lives, and create a legacy of success. We empower youth, especially those impacted by trauma, instability, or disconnection with the confidence, knowledge, and voice to thrive in school, in life, and in their future.
Today’s youth, especially those in underserved, system-impacted, or trauma-affected environments are facing serious challenges:
- High levels of anxiety, depression, and disconnection
- Limited exposure to leadership, career, or wealth-building knowledge
- Few opportunities to explore purpose, identity, and long-term planning
- Disengagement from traditional education or personal development
- Resistance or lack of awareness when it comes to career pathways and programs that already exist to support them
Many teens are not just unprepared for their future, they’re unsure they even have one. Even when career resources or educational programs are available, youth often struggle to connect with them due to lack of relevance, trust, or self-belief. Violence has taken over neighborhoods and has become the center of attention, making it hard for the youth to focus on their success.
The Legacy Youth Development Program addresses this urgent need by providing real-life tools for self-awareness, emotional healing, mindset growth, and future-building. It helps young people not only understand what options are available but feel empowered and confident enough to pursue them. It fills the critical gap between what school teaches and what life demands.
