A Prevention-First Movement Powered by One Family One Fight
Protecting Youth. Preventing Violence. Building Legacy.
Youth Over Guns™ (YOG) is a youth development and violence prevention movement created by One Family One Fight, Inc. We believe violence prevention starts long before violence occurs.
By investing in identity, leadership, emotional wellness, life skills, and opportunity, we help young people build the confidence, resilience, and support systems needed to thrive.
Youth Over Guns is more than a program. It is a movement dedicated to creating safer communities and stronger futures for youth and young adults.
ROOTED IN LEGACY
Youth Over Guns™ was created in honor of Samaad Z. Frazier.
After losing her son to gun violence, founder Kimberly Banks transformed pain into purpose by creating a movement focused on prevention, healing, leadership development, and opportunity.
Through Youth Over Guns, One Family One Fight is committed to helping young people build the tools, support systems, and opportunities they need before violence becomes part of their story.
OUR APPROACH
Youth Over Guns is built on the belief that violence is predictable, preventable, and often rooted in unmet needs.
Rather than waiting until a crisis occurs, we focus on strengthening protective factors that help youth succeed, including:
• Positive identity development
• Emotional wellness and resilience
• Leadership skills
• Healthy relationships
• Career and educational opportunities
• Financial empowerment
• Community connection and support
Our work is trauma-informed, youth-centered, healing-focused, and community-driven.
THE YOUTH OVER GUNS ECOSYSTEM
Youth Over Guns operates through three connected pathways designed to engage, develop, and support youth at every stage of their journey.
Engagement Pathway
Delivered through the Legacy Builders Conference (LBC), youth are exposed to leadership, purpose, personal development, and positive opportunities.
Development Pathway
Delivered through the Legacy Youth Program (LYP), youth participate in structured experiences that build life skills, confidence, leadership, and future readiness.
Healing Pathway
Delivered through the Sacred Healing Response Program (SHRP), youth and families impacted by trauma, grief, loss, and violence receive healing-centered support and community connection.
Together, these pathways create a coordinated prevention model that supports youth before, during, and beyond moments of crisis.
THE SIX YOUTH OVER GUNS PATHWAYS
The Legacy Youth Program (LYP) is built around six developmental pathways designed to prepare youth for successful futures.

Building confidence, communication, self-awareness, accountability, leadership, and decision-making skills.
